Cheat Code: The First Record Off Night To Remember

August 9, 2026

On August 4, 2026, Max B and French Montana released "Cheat Code (Follow Me)." An official performance video premiered on YouTube the same day at noon Eastern.

It is the first single from Night To Remember, the disco album arriving September 4.

What it sounds like

"Cheat Code" moves. That is the first thing.

Most of what these two have put out since the reunion has been built on nostalgia in one form or another, records that reach back toward Coke Wave and the mixtape era and let the history do some of the work. "Cheat Code" is not doing that. It is built forward. The production has more air in it, more space, more of a pulse than a knock.

Max B handles melody. That has been true since 2006 and it is true here. His voice sits on top of the track without straining for it, which is the whole thing that made him worth stealing from in the first place. French Montana comes in with the confidence he has had on every record for fifteen years.

Put together it is a record about being the person in the room who already knows how the night ends.

Why the single matters

Singles do two jobs. They tell you what an album is, and they tell you whether anybody is listening.

"Cheat Code" does the first job cleanly. Anybody who hears it knows immediately that Night To Remember is not Wave Gods 2, Part 2. It is a different room. The Wave Gods 2 breakdown shows how far the distance is.

The second job is handled by the run that came before it. "Ever Since U Left Me" went number one on Billboard Rhythmic Airplay and Mediabase Rhythmic Radio and pulled over 50 million global streams across all versions, 23 million YouTube views, 272 million TikTok views and more than 570,000 Shazams. "Minks in Miami" with Rick Ross went number one on Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.

That is the platform this launched from. The full Billboard chart history has every position.

The performance video

The video is a performance piece, not a narrative one. Released the same day as the song, on YouTube.

That is a deliberate choice. A performance video puts the record itself in front of you rather than building a story around it. For a song that lives on feel, that is the right call.
